ABSTRACT

In this paper, a log-normal model and a normal model are both applied, one at the time, to predict the impact of the atmospheric release of two air pollutants, namely PM10 and SO2. The results are than compared with the real data recorded for these two pollutants, during half a year (between October 2011 and Mars 2012).

The study shows that the first one is better described by the log-normal model (being mainly generated by a low situated source – the ash dumps), whereas the second is suitable to be treated in the normal one (being mainly generated by a high situated source - the power plant chimneys).
